volunteers life

Hola!

J'ai eu sympa week-end!
It started with our first „volunteers party” or Lenas birthday celebration, all together we cooked and after enyoed great meal. Of course we wanted more „sugar” in our lifes, so romantic movie „The Holidays” was exactly that what we need. So, my colleagues, volunteers- I really hope that we will continue this kind of „activities” ! ;)

Yea, and then came Saturtday- normal, free day for me, and I wanted to change it from ordinary Saturtday to more extraordinary. So I opened Coach Surfer's web page and found a place in Metz where to stay in that evening! And so I spend very interresting and nice evening togethe with Eloy- a guy from Mexica, but who lives in Metz already for 5 years. Cooking a chicken, watching worl cup in rugbie (yee, South- Africa, u r th best! ), laughing about Lui 16th in a movie „Marie Antuanet”, and after talking till the middle of the night. Cool evening, isn't it!? ;)
Oh, and this was my first experience with Coach Surfers- I have never coached or hosted, but I know that this is just the beginning! Thanks a lot, Eloy!

And on Sunday – when I come back to home, I accidentally met one ERASMUS student from Spain- and again I heard how great it is to take part in this programme. So I think my EVS is just the first year away of home- ERASMUS- U have to wait a little bit!

Its so good that now- after one and a half month I know more people (mostly students) and that my days here start to become better and better!

Huh, now I will try to make a corncobs!

Again one day is gone- I can not believe that time can run so fast! I have so much things to do beside of other „important” stuffs, that here in France I even havent start to read some book (like 14,99€ or Kosher Sex), and I have no time to write postcards to my friends in Latvia (ok, I do it, but very slow- every evening before sleep- one/two postcards! ;)

Well, before some days I did very very great thing- I bought tickets to the SPICE GIRLS concert in LONDON! This is one of one of my favourite groups ever- and I will be there! Jeaaaah! Btw- I bouhgt two tickets, so it is possible to come with me. Not cheap but I know it is worth it!

And from London I will flight to LATVIA! Home, my home.
In the end of january I will spend more that a week in Latvia and that is really good feeling that I have booked the tickets and I know the dates when I will see my fatherland- family, friends, my hairdresser, dentist etc ;)

By the way, I had one more thing to tell- this was the best Sunday I have had here in France, because I went to Amneville- that is a big „entertainment” park where are many possibilities to have FUN!
Well, sure that I got it! I enjoyed the roupe trace- BLACK one- even 15 m above the ground! Yea, I was scared, and a lot, but the best thing of all it was emotions and „the fight with yourself”. After that- really great relax in the termopolis- swimming pool and sauna complex. Some day I will retourn there!

Tonight- again joy together with Carrie Bredshow and „the sex and the city” season 6.

French people are so nice! I just met one French girl, who invited me to a reggae party in her town! Hopefully everything will go well and in the end of October I will go to Thionville ;)

But the main thing that I want to talk about is my ARRIVAL SEMINAR! I spent 5 great days together with 20 other volunteers from all Europe who are doing their EVS in France. It all included many intercultural activities, discussions, games, films, a lot of fun, walks to “nowhere“ etc. I can not forget our great meals with many national foods, for example,
Placki ziemniaczane and Racuszki from Poland,
Chili con carne from Columbia/ Spain
Pasta alla cabonara from Italia,
Apfelstrudel from Germany etc.

Of course, I made traditional Latvian salads- RASOLS! ;)

Yea, I have got so much new information that I can't wait to put everything in the right places. I know that I will visit Paris and meet there Tina ( tipical german girl), I know that together with Magda (excellent girl from Poland) we will hitch hike somewhere in France, I feel that I could catch the sun in the Marsel, where Katrina is living!

But now I have to start serious fight with myself- and the keyword is FRENCH KITCHEN! Almost everything is delicious and I just can not to eat! ;)
And the exercise will be not to eat so much and start to „faire du sport” more that ever! Otherwise – u know what happens with Latvian girl in France, especially if she loves to eat!

What can I say- thanks EU that I have this great possibility to enjoy the life here in FRANCE! 

Already three full weeks I have been here in France- yeaaa! I like it! ;)
Finally we ended our work for preparing Soiree Irlandais- (Irish evening)- now its in the past- with an overeating, dances and Irish music! Only thing I missed was Irish wiskey, Guiness bear isnt so good!


I want to talk about our mentor Veronica- she is so cool woman- yesterday she introduced us with her family and I start to feel her like a second mum! We are so lucky with her- she doesnt mind if we take some break and go somewhere, she's always helpful and even teach us french gramatique! And also the director of our organisation- Salvator- its so freeky to get kisses from him every morning! Thats France and I start to take it normally ;)

These days the weather is so nice that I even could took a sunbath!

Today I spend time with one german guy and it was so funny to speak with him in 4 languages- french, english, russian and german! So big mix of languages was in my head!
We found out that there is one great place called Amneville not far from here, where it is possible to go roupe trace and after go to the termopolis- one complex of swimmingpool and sauna! Cant wait to get there!

Just watched COYOTE UGLY , oh, so great movie- could even say my favourite!

This evening in my organisation happens weird things- Zan Marii (that old man, who gives us dinners!) after two days came home together with one african woman and a blue eye! He took from the kitchen 3 bottles of wine and went to his room together with that woman! I dont want to imagine what he will say to others tomorrow, when they will see he and his blue eye! :D
